Stadsdriehoek
If you love hustle and bustle and architecture, this is your neighborhood. Stadsdriehoek is the medieval heart of Rotterdam, bounded by the Coolsingel, Goudsesingel, and the former Maas river. It was here that the city’s foundation was laid with the construction of a dam, establishing the basis for a world city. Although the traces of its medieval past are no longer visible due to the devastating bombing in 1940, the Rotterdamers lived up to their motto “Stronger through Struggle” and swiftly rebuilt the city. The district now showcases numerous architectural masterpieces, including the Cube Houses, Markthal, and Timmerhuis. The neighborhood shares the shopping center with the famous “Koopgoot” and the Lijnbaan with the Cool district. Here, you’ll be surrounded by bustling activity seven days a week, with shops catering to everyone. On weekdays, you can stroll through the market at Binnenrotte, and in the evenings, you can enjoy the many bars, pubs, and nightlife venues or marvel at the impressive skyline.
