This pre-war neighborhood originated when the Rotterdam ports were growing at the beginning of the previous century, creating a high demand for new labor. The neighborhood is characterized by many apartment buildings in the northern part, small streets with low-rise buildings in the southern part, and ‘de Kiefhoek’. With over 150 different nationalities, the neighborhood is a vibrant mix of residents and cultures. Surrounded by amenities and shopping streets, Bloemhof is a pleasant place to live.
