Oud-Mathenesse
In the 1930s, Rotterdam’s westernmost district emerged in the meadows between Rotterdam and Schiedam: Oud-Mathenesse. A multicultural, pre-war city district, known as the quietest district of Delfshaven. The heart of the district is the Franselaan, a pleasant street where shopaholics can indulge themselves. If you want to live in an involved neighbourhood, this is the place for you. Residents work tirelessly for the neighbourhood: every year there is a well-attended spring market and children parade through the neighborhood at Halloween.
