Discover sparkling Cool

The vibrancy of the Rotterdam city centre can be felt in Cool.

Rotterdam’s city centre is buzzing and it shows in this district. The Cool area is, quite simply, very cool. And for these reasons:

Lilith

Breakfast all day, every day! That is possible at Lilith in the Mauritsstraat. What’s on offer? Eggs benedict, pancakes in all shapes and sizes, toast and more goodies to start or finish the day. Lilith is somewhat hidden, but lies exactly in the middle of the bustle between the Oude Binnenweg and the Van Oldenbarneveltstraat. They recently opened a second location on de Kaap.

King Kong Hostel

Eat, party and sleep at the King Kong Hostel in the Witte de Withstraat. Rotterdam ended up on the hippest city lists partly thanks to this beautiful design hostel in the heart of the city. The nice thing about this place is that locals are welcome too. Stay the night or pop in for the breakfast buffet or for lunch.

Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art

The Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art is an international art institute and was founded in 1990. The critical reflection of timely issues has been core to its mission for more than 25 years. The institute works with both a permanent curatorial team and guest curators from all over the world.

WORM

WORM is a Rotterdam foundation for experimental underground art. WORM was financially supported by the Triodos Bank and the government’s memorandum on culture 2009-2012. You can go for a drink and to dance but also for the (Dutch) lectures which are held here.

SUE

For those with a craving for something sweet, SUE stands for delicacies that are sugar-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, raw and vegan. Responsible snacking. The business on the Karel Doormanstraat responds to the healthy trend in which more and more people value a healthy lifestyle. It’s a great place to relax while shopping or after an exhibition.
